Field Notes #2

Image
September 26, 2023 5:01PM Present climate conditions: partly cloudy and misty sprinkling rain at the end Temperature 71 Day length 11:59:31 This was a great sit today. I climbed into the stand and like always there were a couple birds around in the trees around me and there was a squirrel on the ground about 15 yards away. The crop is about 4 inches tall and reaches about 6 inches at the highest spot: Now the coolest thing I saw was a little buck and some doe. They were in the far corner of the clearing. The buck was scraping a scrape and licking a licking branch on a low branch. They might have smelled me because the buck looked up and then walked away, but it was great to see wildlife. The deer were a little too far for the camera to capture them but here is a little video . I also saw these dow tracks in the sand on the trail. Observations since the last visit: The crops are looking a little more full and I saw those tracks that I didn't see before and the leaves are changing ...

September 6, 2023 6:30 PM Present climate conditions: breezy, partly cloudy, humid Temperature 76 degrees Day length 12:32:19 I noticed multiple types of birds flew out of the field once I walked up and I felt some fungus on a log I found. I did smell the wildflowers flowers in the field behind me and I thought I heard something moving in the woods when I sat still but I never saw it (It could have been turkey that I've seen in that field, but then it could have been a deer). One half hour after I left some dear showed up on the Camera so that could have been it too. Observations from previous visit: N/A
